The large hallway can be filled with muddy Wellington boots and coats after your long walks in the woods nearby. Chuck off your outdoor clothes and head straight into the open-plan lounge/kitchen with its high vaulted ceiling, stone walls and comfy sofas, ideal for relaxing in after a long day of adventure. This is a room designed for communal living. There are books, DVDs and board games available if you’re having a night in, and the space lends itself to good conversation with loved ones.
Once again, there is a spacious king size bed and en suite bathroom available, with power shower: the twin bedroom is cosy and well lit, and there’s another bathroom opposite with bath and power shower. The cottage also has other amenities, such as dishwasher and a washing machine, to make your stay even more comfortable.
When you have a moment once the evening has drawn in, go and stand in the garden and do a little stargazing. It really is true that the stars are brighter when you’re in the countryside. Large parts of Mid Wales are acquiring Dark Sky status, protected against light pollution. See a shooting star, and make a wish: you’ll always be welcome back at Penbeili Mawr, should your wish come true.
A home from home…
We want to make your stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible, and so we provide you with some additional extras so you can enjoy your holiday a little more. Bathrooms are stocked with loo roll and hand soap. Your kitchen will have a tea cosy, oven gloves, kitchen towels, dishcloths, scissors, dishwasher tabs, laundry cleaner and cleaning materials. They’re replenished with basic stuff for every stay: pepper mill, sugar, salt, oil, teabags and coffee. While the supermarkets deliver here regularly (Asda & Tesco), we also pop a pint of milk in your fridge, and some homemade bara brith can be expected to welcome you.
