Welcome to the Cowshed Cottage, our intimate one bedroom cottage that stretches languidly over one level. An enclosed garden sits at the front of the cottage, and a small private courtyard is accessible to the rear. Parking is available at the front for two cars.

Stepping through the door takes you into the open plan kitchen/lounge area, with its high vaulted ceiling and warm light spreading throughout from the glass-fronted doors on either side.

In the summer months, open a bottle of wine and light up the barbeque in the courtyard. If the weather is wintry, the snowy countryside is mesmerising and utterly tranquil. During a thunderstorm, you can truly see wild Wales in its big skies; when the storms pass, the Red Kite soars towards the horizon.

The light and airy bedroom houses a comfortable king size bed, and has patio doors that lead onto the secure courtyard. The en-suite bathroom provides a power shower or a bath for the ultimate relaxation. Turn on the radio and listen to some music whilst you plan the next day’s activities.

There are woodland walks around Penbeili Mawr and there is secure bike parking should you wish to explore the countryside around you. If you want to remain closer to home, a secure garden sits at the front, and the rear courtyard is your private space, with only the sky and the fields for company. Cowshed Cottage also has a good bookshelf and DVDs, and board games for the more competitive amongst you. Turn on the reading lamp and relax in the chair with a book whilst the wood burning stove crackles and kicks out heat.

We want you to think of Cowshed as your sanctuary from the outside world, and the vibe here is one of cosiness and relaxation.

A home from home…

We want to make your stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible, and so we provide you with some additional extras so you can enjoy your holiday a little more. Bathrooms are stocked with loo roll and hand soap. Your kitchen will have a tea cosy, oven gloves, kitchen towels, dishcloths, scissors, laundry cleaner and cleaning materials. They’re replenished with basic stuff for every stay: pepper mill, sugar, salt, oil, teabags and coffee. While the supermarkets deliver here regularly (Asda & Tesco), we also pop a pint of milk in your fridge, and some homemade bara brith can be expected to welcome you.
